The CoE by BotLab is an ecosystem committed to building a culture of innovation, skill development, and indigenous drone technology research across the country.

The goal behind the creation of a Drone Centre of Excellence is to:

What is a Centre of Excellence (CoE)?

A Centre of Excellence is much more than a lab; it's an end-to-end ecosystem for practical training and learning, innovation, and collaboration on drone technologies.

BotLab establishes CoEs in collaboration with educational institutions, government bodies, and innovation councils to build an environment that nurtures young minds with:

• Get hands-on experience in engineering and flight systems related to drones.
• Access industry-grade tools, hardware, and curriculum aligned to real-world applications.
• Design and test prototypes of custom drones for research, training, and competitions.
• Participate in mentored innovation programs and national hackathons.

Each one is designed to be conducive to modular learning, from basic assembly and flight training right down to advanced research and development.

Youth Training and Workshops

We offer India's most advanced drone training workshops, led by some of the most experienced pilots and trainers in the country.

Our carefully designed curriculum is beginner-friendly yet comprehensive, including both the theoretical and practical aspects of drone technology.

Participants learn to build a drone using our plug-and-play kits.

As a fully vertically integrated drone company, we extend our advanced in-house capabilities to academic institutions. Our recently announced Drone Lab Program aims to build state-of-the-art drone labs at premier universities like IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and IIT Madras.

Equipped with identical indigenous hardware and software systems that also power the real-world applications developed at BotLab, these labs provide students and researchers with world-class UAV infrastructure for innovation, learning, and research.

These sessions are focused on:

• Drone assembly and flight basics.
• Programming and design of control systems.
• Aerial data collection and analysis.
• Safety, regulation and mission planning.

It is through these activities that students develop industry-oriented skills, converting purely classroom learning into application-based knowledge.

Hackathons and Innovation Challenges

The CoE hosts regular drone innovation hackathons and research challenges to foster a culture of creativity and problem-solving.

These events encourage participants to:

• Solve real-world problems using drone technology.
• Collaborate with peers and industry mentors.
• Showcase innovations at national platforms.

The winning ideas usually receive funding for prototyping, mentorship, and incubation support that helps students take their ideas from conception to reality.

IHFC Partnership

The CoE initiative is supported by the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC) under IIT Delhi’s Technology Innovation Hub (TIH). This partnership furthers the mission of BotLab Dynamics in connecting academia with industry for collaborative research and skill development. 

Through this association, the institutions will obtain access to national innovation networks, standardised drone education frameworks, and advanced R&D support. BotLab Dynamics and IHFC are together strengthening India's indigenous drone ecosystem, driving innovation, and developing professionals for the future.
